Adverse drug reactions
The basic principle of our operation is to produce highest quality, reliable and effective products, therefore every medicinal product of JSC “Riga Pharmaceutical Factory” (AS "Rīgas Farmaceitiskā Fabrika”) is carefully tested and tracked at various stages of its life cycle.
JSC “Olainfarm” (AS "Olainfarm") provides supervision and maintenance over the company's medicinal products safety (pharmacovigilance).
We receive drug safety information from national Regulatory Authorities, healthcare professionals, patients and/or their representatives, cooperation partners. We carefully evaluate this information and, if necessary, report it to the "Eudravigilance" medicinal product database of the European Medicines Agency and/or to the national Regulatory Authorities.
Pharmacovigilance specialists perform the following as part of daily and, if necessary, emergency drug safety monitoring:
- stay aware of new potential risks that may affect the safety and effectiveness of drug use;
- analyzes the received drug safety information;
- evaluates the ratio of the risk of drug use / the benefits of drug use;
- provides up-to-date drug safety information to the Regulatory Authorities, healthcare professionals, patients, cooperation partners, company employees.
Health care professionals, patients, their relatives and any other interested party can and are welcome to report adverse reactions caused by the use of JSC "Riga Pharmaceutical Factory" medicinal products.

The provided information will be used for the performance of pharmacovigilance functions defined in regulatory acts in order to collect and analyze information on observed adverse reactions. This information will help to reduce and prevent the possible risk associated with the use of the drug and will be used only in accordance with the intended purpose and to the extent necessary to achieve it.
